Memorial day laptop sales 2021: early deals already here at Dell, HP, and more

Each day we're edging closer and closer to the yearly Memorial Day laptop sales, and, even though we're still just over a week away, there are already great discounts to check out a number of leading retailers.

For example, Lenovo has already launched its Memorial Day sales, and both HP and Dell have also been really ramping up their respective sales pages too. Subsequently, it's actually not a bad time to jump in and bag yourself an early-bird Memorial Day laptop sale if you spot something to your liking.

For sheer bang for the buck, we think this 15.6-inch Gateway at Walmart for $419 (was $749) is looking like a fantastic buy right now. With an Intel Core i5, 16GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD, this is a mid-range laptop for a fairly budget price. If you've got a bit more dollar to spend, you could also consider this excellent Dell Inspiron 15 3000 for $589.99 (was $709.99) - a machine that has a slightly older but still fantastic Ryzen 7 processor plus expansive 512GB SSD.

And, if you have even more to spend, you'll also find some pretty big price cuts on premium machines this week like this whopping $400 discount on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 at Best Buy, or even a $650 discount on a brand spanking new Dell XPS 13.

Early Memorial Day laptop sales

Lenovo 14w laptop: $319 $239 at Lenovo
Save $80 - A really hefty price cut in the Lenovo Memorial Day sales makes this 14-inch laptop a really great buy if you just want the basics. Inside it's got 64GB of memory, 4GB of RAM, and an AMD A6 processor - which aren't super powerful, but they are enough to get by for just browsing and shopping and give this machine a really great 14 hours of battery life.

Asus L510MA 15.6-inch laptop: $279.99 at Amazon
If you need a bit more space on those drives, this 15.6-inch Asus at Amazon is another good bang for the buck option. This one's got a 128GB SSD - twice that of the Lenovo above, and the Celeron N4020 processor and 4GB of RAM should keep you covered for the basics too.

HP 15z laptop: $369.99 $329.99 at HP
Save $40 - If you're looking for a fully-fledged laptop that doesn't break the bank, then definitely consider this HP 15z. Inside it's got an AMD Athlon Gold processor, 8GB of RAM, plus a 128GB SSD, which aren't show-stopping specs by any stretch of the imagination, but they will definitely get the job done for most work and casual applications.

Gateway 15.6-inch laptop: $749 $419 at Walmart
Save $330 - For sheer bang for the buck, it's going to be hard to beat this 15.6-inch Gateway in this year's Memorial Day laptop sales for sure. Not only does this one have a 10th generation Intel Core i5 processor, but it's also got a 256GB SSD and a whopping 16GB of RAM. The latter is a spec that's often overlooked but very handy to have regardless of what kind of applications you're going to be running.

HP 14T laptop: $579 $449.99 at HP
Save $140 - With a 256GB SSD, 11th gen Intel Core i3 processor, and 8GB of RAM,  this 14-inch HP laptop is packing in some really up-to-date specs that are perfect for a range of casual and work applications. A 14-inch form factor is perfect too if you're looking for something that's not too big, but not too small either.

Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop: $709.99 $589.99 at Dell
Save $120 - The AMD Ryzen 7-3700U processor in this Dell Inspiron might be a little older, but it's easily more powerful than the usual Core i5's and i3's you often see at this price point. This machine also has 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD ensuring you've got plenty of space on those drives for a multitude of applications.

Asus M515UA 15.6-inch laptop: $659.99 at Newegg
This 15.6-inch Asus isn't the flashiest laptop sale on our list, but it might just be the most up-to-date - and powerful for that matter. Not only has this solid machine got 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, but it's also packing in an AMD Ryzen 7-5700U. That's a very powerful processor indeed, and one of the latest on the market in fact.

Dell G5 15 SE gaming laptop: $929.99 $685.99 at Dell
Save $244 - The Dell G5 15 SE was already great value thanks to its exclusively AMD-based components, but it’s got even better value thanks to the latest sale over at Dell. This mid-range model features an AMD Ryzen 5-4600H processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, and an RX 5600M graphics card. For under $700, it simply doesn’t get any better than this if you’re looking for cheap gaming laptop deals that will still manage great 1080p gaming performance. 

Dell XPS 13 laptop: £849 $699.99 at Dell
Save $150- Also at Dell this week is a fantastic early-bird Memorial Laptop day sale on a base-model Dell XPS 13. Well, we say base-model, but this one's still packing in an 11th gen Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. These specs will still see you zipping through many tasks, and in style too.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 (13.5-inch): $1,299.99 $899.99 at Best Buy
Save $400 - With an Intel Core i5-10300H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB SSD, you're getting plenty of power to match the gorgeous aesthetic with this premium Microsoft Surface Laptop 3. Weighing just 2.89 lbs and with an 11.5-hour battery life, these laptops are equally at home for working on the go, or simply as a premium laptop for casual use at home.

Lenovo Yoga 7i 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop: $1,149 $869.99 at Lenovo
Save $280 - If you're looking for a laptop that can do everything, aside from the light spot of gaming, then this Lenovo Yoga 7i is a fantastic choice. Inside this 2-in-1 laptop you're getting an 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, which makes it easily one of the most powerful laptops on our list.

Evoo 15.6-inch gaming laptop: $1,099 $899 at Walmart
Save $200 - Another fantastic gaming laptop deal this week is on this 15.6-inch Evoo at Walmart. Apple MacBook Air (2020, M1): $999 $949 at Amazon
Save $50 - The all-new M1 processor inside the latest MacBook Air affords it some of the best performance we've ever seen from an Apple device. It is - dare we say - actually pretty damn good value if you're looking for a premium ultrabook that'll get the job done, especially this particular model with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.

New Dell XPS 13 Touch: $1,699.99 $1,049.99 at Dell
Save $650 - This particular Dell XPS 13 Touch was on sale for $949 last week but we think it's still an absolutely stellar laptop deal considering the specs on offer here. Not only has this one got a 4K display, but it's also packing in an 11th gen Intel Core i7 processor, which alongside the 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD, make it one very speedy operator.
